Cease to Begin by Band of Horses is an almost 35 minute long album consisting of 10 songs released in October 2007. It has a comfortable sound and the band who here goes for texture and shade within the music, over size and scale. Band of Horses’ music is described as, “dreamlike, rootsy songs that top churning guitars with glacially pretty, reverb-slathered vocals.”
Therefore, having the same feeling visually is only the natural progression for their album art and the general branding identity. With a great amount of noise in each image, which gives reference to the sound of the music itself. the choices in the images, texture, and type in this branding is translating the music into image form.
